Rockplan has designed many different aspects of civil defense shelters. Typically the shelters designed are S6 class rock shelters. As a design agency for rock engineering projects, Rockplan manages the challenges of even the most demanding projects.

The design of underground shelters must also consider the operation of the space under normal conditions. Often, underground civil protection facilities act as parking facilities, such as those in Erottaja, Kluuvi and Kamppi.

Sipoo’s multifunctional hall and civil defense shelter was designed to be as spacious as possible, versatile and pleasant to use. If necessary, the multipurpose hall will be converted into a shelter for 1,800 people.

The technical requirements for civil defense shelters are regulated by the Ministry of the Interior.
